hunger

2026

Acrylic paint with paper cut outs

two canvases, together 59,2 x 42 cm

This piece is part of a larger school project exploring the theme of overthinking. It focuses on the idea of thinking as an addiction and is originally inspired by my own poem: https://artappeal.com/hunger/

The work uses the motif of ants, painted in the style of Surrealism, to express the relentless hunger of intrusive thoughts. The ants function as a metaphor for the way overthinking consumes the mind from within, devouring focus, calm, and clarity just as they would devour anything in their path.
